ENGLISH CEMETARY in FLORENCE, Italy http://www.florin.ms/cemetery.html
This site holds a record of the graves in the ENGLISH cemetary in FLORENCE (Italy). Fantastic site. The cemetary, (as we all know !) is the final resting place of Elizabeth Barrett Browning, but it also holds the bones of the first wife of Holman Hunt, also the bones of Walter Savage Landor (who had a sad old age) and others of literary interest. From a Family History point of view it is a delight, because the female records also give maiden names which is the European/Italian tradition. There are Welsh bones interred here. Click here for list also Irish, Scottish, and many English graves. The website has a guide to the "codes" used in the register, including this one:- " ° =living descendants, relatives, researchers" - which might be useful for our own research purposes. Please sign the petition to keep the cemetary (Swiss owned) open and cared for.
